Après son doctorat effectué au sein de LIToTeS, et un séjour post-doctoral au sein de l'équipe de G. Shaw à la University of Exeter Business School, Isabelle Cloquet a réintégré l'IGEAT comme Premier-Assistant au Master en Sciences et Gestion du Tourisme. Ses travaux de recherche portent sur la conceptualisation du développement des destinations touristiques, le rôle des acteurs de l'économie social dans ce développement, et les relations entre tourisme, intelligence artificielle et société. Isabelle continue également ses travaux de thèse sur le tourisme en Afrique subsaharienne.

Domaine(s) d’activités

My research interests center on the development process of tourist destinations, and more particularly on the conceptualization of such development. The aim is to gain insights into how aspects of destination growth and destination shaping (i.e., qualitative aspects of destination development) are gauged and combined by tourism stakeholders, as materialized in their discourses and operational tools. Tourism stakeholders include tourists, hosts, professional practitioners, public stakeholders, non-governmental organisations, tourism researchers.

Associated with this key research area are topics relating to the adoption of artificial intelligence by tourism stakeholders and its effects on destination development, and the role of stakeholders from the social economy in the development of tourist destinations.

Along with these key topics, I have other research interests pertaining to the relationships between tourism and wellbeing, tourism and social inclusion, and tourism and conservation. These research topics are investigated in both developed and developing countries, with expertise having been acquired on central African destinations.

Enseignement

I currently give 4 modules in the Master en sciences et gestion du tourisme: (1) Gestion des entreprises et destinations touristiques; (2) Diagnostic touristique; (3) (gestion de) Projets touristiques; (4) Méthodes quantitatives et qualitatives de recherche en tourisme.
